As this photo shows, the bicycle is oppressed through neglect by its former owner. When this bicycle no longer is given the potential to become or maintain a functional structure, their is nothing the bike can do to protest. In many ways when people are oppressed they don't have much power or ability to rise above the oppressor and to regain their former position in society.
